Coaching that adapts to you. Here's how it works, what's included, and how to get the most out of NXT RUN.

Getting started

NXT RUN builds you a personalized, adaptive running plan and coaches you through it. You tell it your race, your fitness, and the days you can run - it builds a plan that adjusts as you go. Coaching that adapts to you.

Runners who want a real plan, not a generic template. We're especially well-suited for marathoners chasing a Boston qualifier, but the system handles 5K to ultra and everything from "build a base" to "race-specific peak."

No. NXT RUN estimates them from a recent effort or a ramp-up week and refines as you log runs. You can override anything in settings.

Tell us your race date and distance (or pick a fitness goal), your current weekly mileage, how many days you can run, and which days you want easy vs. hard. We do the rest.

Yes. Move the race date, change distances, swap days, dial mileage up or down - the plan rebuilds around your changes.

NXT AI (Pro only)

Your in-app coach. It can answer questions about today's workout, analyze your last run, build new workouts, move things around your plan, and explain why your plan looks the way it does. It's a coaching system - built around running, not a general chatbot.

  • Adjust the next several weeks based on a tough run or a missed week
  • Add a custom workout (you describe it; it slots it in)
  • Explain why a workout is on your schedule
  • Summarize a completed run and flag what to focus on next
  • Move workouts when life gets in the way

No. NXT AI proposes; you approve. Auto-pace adjustments and small reschedules around missed runs are the only changes that happen automatically, and you can review them anytime.

Workouts

Any focused workout: intervals, tempo, threshold, hills, fartlek, fast-finish, time trial, or track. The "Q" badge on Today flags one of these days.

Yes - Pro only. One tap dials it down or up. Future workouts in the same phase recalibrate to match.

Skip it. NXT RUN reabsorbs the missed run into the rest of the week (or the rest of the block) - it doesn't pile it on top of tomorrow's session.

Yes. Cross-training shows alongside runs in your week and counts toward your weekly load. We don't prescribe strength routines, but you can log strength days and they'll appear on your timeline.

Yes. Use Workout Builder (or ask NXT AI to build one) and drop it on any day.

Device sync

Garmin, Apple Watch, COROS, and Strava. We push your next 7 planned workouts to the watch and pull completed activities back into the app.

Settings → Connections → pick your platform → sign in. Once connected, planned workouts appear on the watch automatically.

Yes. We send full workout structure (warm-up, intervals, recovery, etc.) so your watch alerts you through every step, just like a workout you'd build manually.

Most syncs are within a minute or two. If it's been longer, pull-to-refresh on the schedule. Strava in particular can lag if Strava's own upload from your watch is slow.

Boston Qualifier (BQ) Bonus

If you qualify for the Boston Marathon while on a NXT RUN Pro annual subscription, we give you $120 toward your Boston entry fee. We're runners - we want to help you get there.

Full terms: BQ Bonus Terms & Conditions.

You must:

  • Be on Pro annual when you run your qualifying race
  • Hit the official BQ standard for your age group and gender
  • Complete the qualifier during the BAA's qualifying window

Best Efforts

Your fastest times for standard distances (mile, 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, etc.) extracted automatically from any run that covers them. We track them across three periods: All-Time, Year, and Plan.

Best Efforts measure the fastest segment of any run - including races. If you negative-split a race, your in-race 5K split might be faster than the official 5K finish time you have on file from a different day.

[Fill in if you have this - e.g. mark a treadmill run, drop a bad GPS run.] CONFIRM

Analytics

The pace you would have run on flat ground - corrected for hills. Use it to compare effort across hilly and flat routes.

Open any completed run, scroll to the chart, and drag a selection across the part you want to inspect. You'll get distance, average pace, GAP, heart rate, elevation gained, and grade for that segment.
